Problem:‍

Cash-in cash-out agents and SMEs in the last mile economy face persistent inefficiencies in service delivery, liquidity management, and customer experience, limiting the scalability of digital financial services across informal markets in Africa.

Solution/Outcome:‍

We facilitated a co-creation accelerator bringing together financial inclusion thought leaders and three fintechs from Ghana, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. Through structured design sprint workshops, stakeholders collaboratively developed and refined solution concepts addressing last-mile transaction challenges. The process included iterative prototyping and user testing to validate usability and relevance in real-world agent and SME contexts.

The engagement culminated in tested prototypes and actionable design improvements that informed pilot implementation. The accelerator strengthened cross-market learning and demonstrated the value of co-design in developing scalable, agent-focused and SME-driven financial solutions for last-mile economies.
